Become a key player as a Controller:
NextDeavor is seeking a dynamic and strategic individual to fill a position as Controller.

As Controller, you will play a hands-on role in implementing processes and systems for our clients.
This involves identifying their requirements, selecting appropriate systems, and overseeing their setup and implementation.
Here’s how you’ll make an impact on the team:
Facilitate client meetings and oversee monthly and yearly financial closes.
Provide Controller support to startup clients, particularly those in early growth stages (Seed through Series C), who may not have an internal team.
Context shift, communicate, prioritize, and evaluate needs effectively while working with a diverse range of clients.
Manage accountants and processes for both client accounts and potentially internal operations within the company.
Embrace the agile and scrappy nature of startups, adapting to dynamic environments and challenges.
Here’s what you’ll need to be successful in this role:
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or something similar, and over 5 years of progressive experience.
CPA or CMA is a plus
Proficiency in developing and overseeing accounting processes for full-cycle accounting.
Ability to conduct financial statement analysis.
Experience in reviewing and providing recommendations on chart of accounts.
Expertise in offering guidance on cost of goods sold.
Prior experience in client-facing roles.
Capability to prepare financial statements, reports, and presentations.
Competence in managing intercompany transactions and performing financial statement consolidations.
Knowledge of handling unrealized gains and losses in accounting.
Familiarity with equity accounting and reconciliations for stock and convertible notes.
Advanced understanding of ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Lease Accounting).
Experience in overseeing the work product of others.
Understanding of financial due diligence processes.
Passion for environmental conservation and commitment to carbon neutrality.
Ability to identify metrics for assessing clean energy impact, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
Proficiency in preparing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reports.
Pay Range:
$90,000 - $120,000.
