Work on a variety of client engagements in various industries.
Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, compliance errors and irregularities, fraud, or noncompliance with laws and regulations.
Prepare detailed audit reports in accordance with relevant standards.
Inspect eligibility, procurement, and reporting records and compliance systems for efficiency and effectiveness.
Communicate effectively with fellow staff and engagement supervisors/managers to ensure accurate recording of transactions and compliance with laws and regulations.
Examine and evaluate compliance systems.
Assist in the audit field work of business transaction processes including cash, fixed assets, inventories, and expenses.
Develop an understanding of the client’s business and the specific accounting guidance that is applicable to your client and their respective industry.
Accept and respond to engagement feedback.
Working beyond standard job hours is expected during busy season.
Qualifications:
BA/BS/MS in Accounting from an accredited college or university (minimum of 150 college credits earned before start date).
Must be a CPA or eligible to sit for CPA exam.
2-6 years of relevant public accounting experience preferred
Knowledge of accounting principles and auditing/tax standards to effectively supervise staff and solve engagement problems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to listen effectively
Effective time management, organizational, and analytical abilities.
Flexibility and openness to work on a variety of assignments; able to multi-task.
Work well under pressure and with a team; able to meet deadlines with accuracy
Ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment while applying specialized proficiencies of a trained accountant
