The Role:
This position plays a pivotal role in helping our clients with diverse tax needs and strategies.
The ideal individual is an Enrolled Agent or tax focused CPA with a minimum of 2 years direct tax preparation experience for the HNW cohort.
The role is focused on tax preparation during tax season(s) with planning and business development support responsibilities at other times.
Must have the skill set and confidence to work un-supervised and directly with HNW clients.
This position will be based out of our San Francisco office and reports to the Partner of Tax Planning.
Responsibilities:
Tax return preparation.
Must be able to take the lead in preparing to submission/review standard 1040, 1041, 1065 and 1120s for the HNW cohort.
Liaise directly with clients in collecting all supporting tax documentation and delivering a smooth return experience for clients.
Familiarity with Estate and Gift Tax and associated planning is a major plus.
California return experience required.
Multi-state exposure desirable.
Preparation of tax analysis and projections especially estimated tax payments and form 2210.
Work directly with clients to explain tax issues and keep clients compliant with their tax obligations.
Stay current on new tax laws and position taxpayers for short-term and long-term tax optimization.
Provide internal education and guidance to Baker Avenue’s wealth advisors.
Qualifications:
At least two years of tax preparation experience EA or CPA license.
Comfortable in a client facing role and working with high-net-worth individuals.
Demonstrated experience in tax compliance.
Knowledge of taxation laws as relates to 1031, QSBS, Qualifying Opportunity Zones, Tax Loss Harvesting, Charitable Donations, Stock Compensation, Basis step-up, Roth IRAs, Post-tax Retirement Savings, Gifting, PTE Taxation, Capital Gains tax planning, short-term v long-term.

Experience with Lacerte/Pro-connect and Excel.
Tech savvy.
