The Position
The Billing & Credit Manager (Revenue Billing 60% Credit/Collections 40%, will report to the Sr.
Director of Revenue Operations & Insights.
This hybrid role combines billing and finance expertise and manages all aspects of the credit and collections function for a portfolio of customer accounts.
The Finance Manager will support the billing reconciliation, and manage various revenue reports to different internal partners and senior management.
Over time he/she will become a subject matter expert in 3rd party billing, and partner with other internal key stakeholders to ensure ROI is represented in various projects related to the Contracts to Cash (OTC) track.
This person will develop a mastery of how SAP order types and usage codes affect our sales and A/R differently.
This customer-facing role will perform credit reviews for new and existing customers, determine credit limits, monitor credit exposure, set dispute settlement strategy, and represent Genentech during customer visits.
Additional tasks include complex past-due receivable collections, deduction management, and other reconciliations.
Responsibilities Represent Genentech, and lead negotiations of disputed impasse claims.
Formulate, execute dispute resolution, collect past due invoices, and ensure customers can avoid repeat situations.
Manage order release and ensure the customer is within the assigned tolerance of approved credit limits and terms.
Monitor customers with high exposure to ensure early detection of financial distress.
Use advanced financial analysis to manage and determine the creditworthiness and forecast the assigned customers' receivable balance, ultimately safeguarding Genentech's assets.
Respond timely to customer inquiries concerning billing and other issues and work closely with various groups to resolve them.
Ensure that our Credit Policy is adhered to while overseeing the cash application process and customer masters updates handled by Costa Rica Shared Service Center (RSS) Perform annual ICFR controls testing for design and operational effectiveness in collaboration with the local affiliate ICFR group and corporate LAI group.
Will be one of ROI’s key contacts for Genentech’s external auditors (KPMG) for the timely supply of the prepared by the client (PBC)’s schedules and expeditiously closing the loop on auditor inquiries leading to audit completeness.
Builds a strong relationship with internal partners (Reserves, RSS) and acts as a Finance Advisor to our key stakeholders (Customer Operations, Contract Operation, Government Pricing, etc) while maintaining a customer-centric mindset.
Report daily sales, reconcile billing and revenue, identify billing errors, and work with different partners to adjust/correct, including credit and re-bill to ensure Genentech trade customers A/R is accurate.
Responsible for third-party manual billing, providing guidance to various Finance Managers and Roche Shared Service to ensure Genentech’s revenue is recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
Responsible for month-end close activities to ensure all billing is posted accurately and timely.
Responsible for reporting, including gross and net product sales, sales in-transit, revenue-cutoff testing, and sales exceptions, Government Price Reporting.
Assist with internal and external audits related to billing Support product launch, including testing for system readiness, reporting and relevant Billing activities for new product.
Track and determine daily sales variations and communicate any issues to our partners Other duties as assigned Requirement Bachelor’s degree required; major in accounting, finance, or other business-related disciplines.
7+ years of experience in credit management and/or general accounting is preferred.
Ability to influence, sometimes without direct authority, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and work with all levels of management.
Excellent communication and time management skills; attention to accuracy and detail are a must.
Above average negotiation skills Proven ability to be self-motivated and able to work in an efficient and effective manner.
Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications; ease in navigating ERP systems (SAP preferred), including use of ERP-generated financial reports.
Excellent PC skills, including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint, are a plus.
The Global Grade for this position is SE6 Relocation benefits are not available for this position The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location California is $109,300 to $202,900.
Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
