JOB DESCRIPTION Your Role Blue Shield’s Enterprise Administrative Expense Consolidation and Shared Service Finance Team, part of the Corporate Finance organization, focuses on the consolidation of total enterprise administrative and quality improvement expenses, Enterprise-wide and Finance Organization Strategic Planning, as well as providing financial planning and analytics to the corporate shared service entities of Finance, Law, People and Engagement and Corporate Accounts.
This is a dynamic team with broad responsibilities and very high visibility at the most senior levels of the organization.
The Financial Analyst, Consultant will report directly to the Director, Finance Analytics.
In this role you will be focused on reporting and analytics that will directly feed the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Blue Shield enabling both short-term and long-term financial planning for the Corporate Portfolio budget.
This includes analysis of key strategic and regulator mandated initiatives to drive business results and steering financial performance toward Blue Shield goals.
This position will assist in developing, generating, and compiling executive reports, project financial business cases, graphs and presentations, performance analysis and reports, plans, forecasts, and other ad hoc requests.
Your Work In this role you will: Provide budget and financial support for the Enterprise’s Corporate Portfolio of projects Partner cross-functionally with the Project Management Organization, Operations and various other finance teams to effectively steer financial performance through monthly, quarterly and annual planning and governance activities Independently review and collaborate on development of business cases/Investment summaries for initiatives identifying costs, benefits, leading Return on Investment (ROI), Discounted Payback Period (DPP) and other metrics for business decisions Support portfolio with monthly/quarterly forecasting activities as needed Review spend, perform variance analysis, track spend against approved budgets and recommend action where appropriate.
Identify risks, opportunities, and solutions to meet financial goals Provide policy guidance and interpretation to ensure financial records are consistent and comply with company policies and GAAP Drive data-driven decision making by providing clear, concise, and accurate financial summaries and recommendations in support of achieving financial and operational targets Collect and evaluate data, develop, and maintain financial models, analyze results and conduct scenario analyses to forecast Follow and audit processes and review internal controls to ensure financial transactions are accurate, timely and comply with accounting standards, principles, and company policy QUALIFICATIONS Your Knowledge and Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 7 years of prior relevant experience (including month end accounting close processes such as Accruals, Reclasses) Experience with project management in Agile environment, funding and budgeting and knowledge of capitalization criteria desired Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrated advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookups), Word, Access, and PowerPoint Requires deep knowledge of Finance and Accounting typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience Expert command of Finance and Accounting principles Experience with specific systems key to the role (e.
g.
, Planview, Oracle) Excellent organization and command of details to work autonomously Pay Range: The pay range for this role is: $ 109120.
00 to $ 163680.
