The Doctors Company is looking for a Premium Accounting Specialist to add to the Finance team.
This is a hybrid opportunity located at our Napa, CA headquarters.
You will be responsible for processing cash receipts for the department and resolving routine problems and questions from employees, agents, brokers and customers.
Reviews policies for reinstatement and cash payment applications including transfer of cash and refunds.
Follows standard procedures and accomplish tasks.
Works under general supervision.
Follows up on payments of earned premium on canceled policies.
Qualifications
Associate degree, accounting or math preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One-year Accounts Receivable experience or equivalent.
One-year experience Basic Word and Excel.
Basic knowledge of accounts receivables and collections.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information processed, as appropriate.
Good oral and written communication skills and excellent telephone etiquette.
Good organizational skills; ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while meeting deadlines.
Ability to create letters, memos and spreadsheets using basic Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to use a 10-key calculator.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral.
Ability to deal with problems involving several set variables in standardized situations.
Salary Range: $42,390 - $52,365
Responsibilities
Administers cash application, credit card processing, refunds, transfer of money and reconciliation.
Reviews policies requiring Reinstatement processing.
Phone coverage & email correspondence; answers and responds to inquiries.
Assists in preparing and maintaining spreadsheets and reports.
Available for all duties, accepts delegated tasks readily and completes assigned duties as directed.
