RH is hiring a Senior Staff Accountant to work closely with our Accounting Manager and Controller to ensure the integrity of the general ledger, and participate in month-end and closing reconciliations.
The person in this position will have the opportunity to work on special projects around the implementation and recommendation of new procedures and policies as we continue to expand the RH product offering and move into new verticals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare journal entries for inventory accounting; including return reserve analysis, freight accruals, inventory shortage reserves, membership income deferrals, etc.
Perform detailed account analysis to identify aging balance and exceptions.
Prepare account reconciliations within Blackline, ensuring all items are supported and properly classified in accordance with RH company policies and GAAP; make recommendations to management when discrepancies are found.
Responsible for internal controls compliance for direct areas of responsibility and support overall internal controls compliance.
Analyze account fluctuations each period and document variance analysis for management review.
Utilize Blackline to manage month end close tasks and progress.
Ability to perform other general accounting duties and assist the accounting department as required while applying company policies and GAAP to tasks.
Prepare and provide support for year-end audit, including preparing audit schedules and requested documentation.
Prepare certain disclosure schedules for 10Q and 10K filings.
Participate in UAT testing for various accounting related projects and system implementations.
Performed ad hoc accounting projects and researches
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
3-5 years of experience in a similar accounting or audit environment preferred
CPA preferred, audit experience preferred
Knowledge of SQL preferred
Quick learner of software applications used in accounting
Demonstrates a can-do and will do attitude
Oracle experience preferred
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Attention to detail and willingness to follow-through
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strong Excel and Access Skills
Self-starter with a successful record of working independently as well as working closely with team members
Highly motivated personality, with ability to get into the detail while understanding the big picture and objective
