Job Description About the Role thredUp is looking for a highly qualified and detail-oriented staff accountant to join our team and help support our rapid and sustained growth.
You will be responsible for performing journal entries, reconciling and analyzing various balance sheet and P&L accounts, ensuring transactions are correctly processed and reported in our financial systems.
To ensure success as a staff accountant, you should demonstrate a sound knowledge of best practices in general ledger accounting and have experience in a similar role.
A top-class staff accountant will be someone who has outstanding problem-solving skills and enjoys working in a challenging and fast–paced, high-growth environment.
In This Role You’ll Get To: Prepare monthly expense accrual journal entries.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations for month-end close Assist in reviewing of monthly departmental spend, ensuring that expenses are coded to the correct account and department through review of Coupa and NetSuite Support management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting and other tasks as necessary Assist in consolidation of our European operations into NetSuite, ensuring correct account mapping, reconciliation of intercompany balances and transactions, etc.
Translate Bulgarian documents and records into English as necessary.
Collaborate with all parts of Finance and business partners to source accruals Support SOX implementation, ensuring that job duties are performed in accordance with thredUp’s SOX controls Support external audit requirements as required, including assisting with sampling requests, population reconciliations and various audit requests What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree 2+ years experience in general ledger accounting, or similar E-commerce and Retail experience is a plus! Proficiency in accounting and business management software, such as NetSuite Proficiency with Excel is a must (e.

, Pivot table, vlookup, sumif, iferror, etc.
) In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
Proactive self-starter with strong time-management and organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment A strong curiosity and a resolute mindset toward continuous process improvement with the ability to innovate and simplify both finance and operational processes Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results At thredUP, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package.
This role pays between $83,000 and $110,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Many thredUP employees also have the opportunity to own shares of thredUP stock.
thredUP employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, as well as a discount when purchasing thredUP stock if voluntarily participating in thredUP’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
