We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including bank, credit card, and GL account reconciliation, coding and paying bills, accessing utility vendors and downloading bills into Rent Manager, reconciling mobile deposits, compiling credit card receipts, and assisting the Controller in the year-end process.
The initial commitment is three days a week, with the potential for more hours depending on workload.
*Duties and Responsibilities:*
* *Bank, Credit Card, and GL Account Reconciliation:* Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of bank statements, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts.
* *Code and Pay Bills:* Process invoices, code expenses appropriately, and ensure timely payments to vendors.
* *Access Utility Vendors and Download Bills:* Interface with utility vendors, download bills, and enter relevant information into Rent Manager.
* *Reconcile Mobile Deposits:* Verify mobile deposits against pending Rent Manager deposits to maintain accuracy.
* *Compile Credit Card Receipts:* Gather and organize credit card receipts, matching them against monthly statements.
* *Assist Controller in Year-end Process:* Collaborate with the Controller to facilitate a smooth year-end process, providing necessary documentation and support.
* *Knowledge of Automated AP Process:* Familiarity with automated accounts payable processes through third-party vendors.
* *Staff Level Accounting Experience:* Previous experience in staff-level accounting roles, demonstrating a strong understanding of accounting principles.
*Requirements:*
* Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
* Proficiency in accounting software, Rent Manager experience is a plus.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of automated AP processes.
* Familiarity with year-end accounting processes.
