*Duration*: Part-time, approximately 12 – 16 hours per week
*Overview*: Marin Waldorf School is seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper/Controller to support the Business Office.
This position is approximately 16 hours per week and is non-exempt.
The Full Charge Bookkeeper/Controller reports to the Director of Finance and Operations and is responsible for general accounting functions and providing timely, relevant and accurate financial information to the school’s leadership and board.
Marin Waldorf School serves approximately 220 students and includes a thriving parent/toddler program, an early childhood program (preschool and kindergarten), and a full grades program (grades 1-8).

Applicants should demonstrate:
* Extensive experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and payroll processes
* Advanced working knowledge of QuickBooks and Google Workspace
* An ability to work supportively and in collaboration with colleagues
The Full Charge Bookkeeper/Controller will handle most of the day-to-day transaction processing as well as the posting and reconciliation of such transactions in the general ledger.
This position will ensure the integrity of the school’s accounting processes; ensure compliance with key regulatory requirements; compile, analyze and prepare financial information for school leadership; and lead the annual audits.
*Role Responsibilities*
Oversee general accounting functions including:
* Accounts payable
* Accounts receivable
* General ledger
* Payroll accounting
Prepare monthly financial statements:
* Monthly banking reconciliations
* Prepare journal entries
* Prepare monthly financial statements and reports including Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Revenue and Expenditures, Forecasts and analytical reports
* Assist the Director of Finance with preparation of annual budget and forecast updates
Complete Annual Filings:
* Develop and maintain annual Business Office calendar including close deadlines, reporting and filing deadlines
* Quarterly 941’s
* Annual 1099’s
* Work closely with the Director of Finance to prepare and lead the annual financial audit
Financial Policies & Procedures:
* Develop and maintain Business Office manual and documentation
*Education and Experience Requirements *
* Expertise in accounting policies and procedures
* Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, Word, Google Workspace
* Customer service oriented with the interpersonal skills to communicate with faculty, staff and parents effectively and collaboratively
* Background check and TB clearance
* BS in accounting or similar equivalent degree
* Previous experience working in a school or non-profit organization preferred
* Experience with Blackbaud a plus
