*Summary/Objective:* The Accounting Specialist will work with the Corporate Finance Manager in handling day-to-day finance and accounting related responsibilities.
S/he will use strong analytical skills and assist the Corporate Finance Manager in carrying out daily responsibilities within the Client Finance department.
To succeed in this role, the individual should also have a problem-solving/solutions-oriented approach, be able to effectively multi-task, and ensure that the delivery of financial data is accurate and complete.
*Required Education and Experience:* · Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business *or* equivalent experience · Minimum 2 years of experience in commissions.
Other relevant experience includes accounts payable/receivable, billing, and/or bank reconciliation experience.
*Competencies:* · Computer literacy; can navigate online systems used for business operations and use Microsoft Suite, advanced skills in Excel · Experience with QuickBooks · Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data · Strong attention to detail and accuracy · Strong ability to understand, design and document processes · Effectively flexes own communication style to varying personalities/styles · Problem-solving skills · Multi-tasking skills · Strong organizational skills · Ability to use sound judgement and discretion · Handles confidential and proprietary information in a professional manner · Effective verbal and written interpersonal communication skills · Ability to take ownership of all job responsibilities, behaviors and actions *Commission Specialist Responsibilities:* · Responsible for executing, tracking and processing monthly brokers and General Agent (GA) commissions · Process commission files monthly by ensuring receipt and correct matching of premium files and associated payments · Prepare agent commission statements and match up with payment for accuracy · Research all requests received and communicate resolution within SLA.
· Address inquires via phone or by email (ticketing system) in a timely manner for various external parties including but not limited to brokers, GA’s, carriers, client groups, parent company, etc.
· Create and update CF related SOPs as needed.
· Drive process improvement to identify ways to increase efficiency and accuracy for the current processes in place · Be proactive in identifying and documenting control deficiencies to mitigate risks for the organization · Prepare and record journal entries for manual transactions · Printing and mailing of premium checks · Collaborate with Corporate Finance on year end activities and escheatment process · Provide training to other employees as needed *Work Environment:* Office in Oakland, CA *EEO Statement:* The workplace and decisions made at Allied Administrators will be free of disparate treatment on the basis of an employee's race, sex, national origin, color, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age (40 and over) or genetic information.
