Job Overview
This accounting and administrative position mainly completes tasks related to accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, ensuring that payments are recorded smoothly and efficiently in Quickbooks and other web-based programs.
Must be able to work in the business office, located in San Anselmo.
Also performs administrative tasks as directed by office management members.
This is a 30 hrs/week full-time position that includes sick pay, paid mileage (for non-commuting driving tasks), paid vacation hours, and optional 401K/health benefits (after 60 days of employment) with the opportunity to expand to 40 hrs/week after training period is complete.
Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting
Performs the following accounting and administrative duties with accuracy and enthusiasm; opens and applies checks from mail, answers phone calls and emails, collates information into reports on schedule, maintains files and record systems; demonstrates proficiency with standard office equipment; maintains a clean and tidy office space.
Updates Quickbooks by categorizing expenses and payments from credit cards, EFT payments, PayPal, Square; reconciles accounts in Quickbooks monthly, processing refunds; entering reimbursement receipts; keeping descriptive categories account, and tasks up to date, runs reports for upper management; and more.
Updates manager as to the status of delegated tasks to ensure progress to deadlines; takes initiative in managers absence; keeps projects on schedule; communicates professionally and in a positive manner with internal and external customers when needed
Skills And Competencies:
Strong organizational skills are critical to this position.
Extensive software skills are required, as well as internet research abilities.
Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Maintain work area; accurately files documents to ensure easy access to all information.
Progressive understanding and application of business knowledge and skills.
Self-motivated; ability to follow through and complete projects under minimal supervision.
Ability to suggest more efficient means of organizing business materials and new work methods.
Education and Experience:
Educational background requirements vary; Bachelor's degree a plus.
Knowledge of standard bookkeeping and accounting procedures and principles required.
Proficient in computer applications such as Quickbooks, Microsoft office, Google Sheets/Docs, general IT skills preferred.
Must pass background check as a condition of employment.
Availability/Schedule:
Ability towork 30 hours/week, in-person at theSan Anselmo, CA office from Monday-Friday.
