Interns will become involved with all aspects of the Assurance practice and will gain solid, hands-on experience.
They will experience challenging and relevant assignments working directly with Marcum partners and staff.
They will work along with the Assurance staff in performing the Audit compliance function of the Assurance practice.
The position requires strong quantitative, analytical and technology capabilities.
Interns must exhibit initiative and a strong desire to learn.
The goal of the internship is to give interns a clear understanding of all areas of the Assurance department.
They will be assigned client work and will be involved in various projects.
Projects will be assigned on an as needed basis.
Interns will leave with knowledge of what will be expected of a Staff Assurance.
Interns are allowed and encouraged to attend any subject matter training being offered during their internship.
Marcum LLP offers 150+ courses per year, in house.
Interns will also receive on the job training and may be required to go to client sites at times.
Interns can choose to work part-time around their school schedule (15-20 hours/week) fully in-office.
Responsibilities
Provide and maintain proper documentation to support assignment completion and release of binders to enable other members of the engagement team to progress with engagement work
Projects may include math checks, research, writing articles, footing financials
Interact with client personnel and keep team informed on status
Additional responsibilities not listed above may be expected as needed
Qualifications
BBA/BS/MST in Accounting
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment; Marcum LLP will not provide sponsorship for this position now or in the future.
Eligible to sit for the CPA Exam upon graduating
Ability to travel to clients if needed
