Job Summary Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Intern eager to learn about the day to day accounting process and procedures.
The Accounting Intern will be assigned a role in Kairos Power's month end close process and various other processes with the guidance and mentorship of the Accounting Manager as well as from the Senior Manager and Accounts Payable team member as needed.
Responsibilities Perform month end accounting reconciliations including cash, accounts payable, inter-company, equity, etc.
Help with the company credit card program including input, review, and reporting Financial Statement Analysis for various entities and project costs Assisting with Ad Hoc Projects, Financial Analysis, & Internal Reporting Ensuring all transactions are recorded in the systems Assisting with Weekly Payment Batches Assist AP when it is not month end including helping with the weekly payment batches, entering vendors into the accounting system (NetSuite), entering invoices and supplier payment accounts into our procurement system (Coupa), and assisting with internal and external queries Learn & Use accounting software: NetSuite ERP Software, Coupa P2P Software Ability to work with highly collaborative team Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently Ability to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledge Ability to seek different and novel ways to create efficiencies when working on problems, challenges and issues Qualifications Current student pursuing Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field Interest in the high-growth technology sector, preferable in nuclear and clean energy Desire to learn, grow, and take on additional tasks Not afraid to ask questions Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to adapt job tasks as required Willingness to achieve a high standard of accuracy and precision Ability to work with highly collaborative team Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently Ability to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledge Strong excel skills preferred Strong analytical skill preferred GAAP knowledge preferred Physical Conditions Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods Environmental Conditions General office environment Accessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned High-concentration, demanding and fast-paced Safety and PPE Reading and interpreting hazardous warning signs Reporting issues with equipment or unsafe conditions The hourly rate for this position is $25 for employees working onsite at our Alameda, CA headquarters.
